Can't fault the weight of the bag and the large side pockets are excellent and made eating on the move alot easier. The weight of the pack seems to sit a bit further back than my previous trailblazer rucksack which felt a bit odd to begin with but I got used to it. The pack was very comfortable to run with. However, the chest straps are not first for purpose, they loosen after just a few minutes and I must have tightened them >100 times in a 6 hour run. I had tried looping them back on themselves but this makes it a pain in the ass to take the pack off, particularly with gloves or mitts on. I have now resorted to stapling the strap so they are now non-adjustable which gives me no flexibility but at least I don't have to keep re-tightening them. If the chest strap issue is fixed then the bag would be a clear 5 star.

I bought this backpack as I loved the fact that it was waterproof and so light.
I'm out guiding on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in all elements and get caught in showers, so this is ideal to keep my kit and valuables dry.
I tested it recently in the rain on the path and it was perfect, inside dry as a bone- my go to bag now in any weather!

I used the Trailblazer 18 litre pack all year and bought this 28L LT for heading into the colder months for more capacity. Although the waterproofing was good on the one time I used it, the chest straps were completely loosening every 10 minutes ruining the harness system (to compare, the Trailblazer 18 would only need retightened a few times on a 6-8 hour walk). On top of this I couldn't even get a filled 1.8 litre bladder into the bladder compartment (compared to being able to get a 3 litre one in the 18 litre trailblazer!), the gap is so tiny to get it in. The retailer suggested filling it when it is already in the bag but some bladders load from the bottom (like mine), and I doubt something with a slide top you would even be able to close when in the bag - on top of this you're risking getting the back system wet and also impossible to fill up at streams/rivers which I do often. I don't think this bag is Hydration bladder compatible as claimed, and the chest straps loosening means you can't distribute the weight on your shoulders as you like - it falls way short of the core Trailblazer series unfortunately. Although it's impressive weight wise I think a couple of design changes are required to make this usable for fast hiking / fastpacking. I had to return the pack to the retailer.
