Good for keeping stones and sand out
These are ideal if you are hiking on sandy or stony terrain as they do a good job of keeping them out of your shoes. You need to stick a piece of Velcro on your shoes to stick the gaiters to but they work well.

Perfect for hiking and scrambling. No stones in shoes!
I wore the gaiters over five consecutive days hiking and scrambling in the Lake District and didn't get one stone in my shoes.
In order to stay in place, the gaiters have a small clip on the front which you attach to your laces and a velcro strip on the back which you attach to the back of your shoes.
You will need to attach a small self adhesive velcro strip to the back of your shoes which is black and extremely discreet. As I wore the gaiters while scrambling, the backs of my shoes were constantly rubbing against rock and one of the velcro strips detached from the shoe on the final day. When I got home, I cut two new strips from the spare velcro that comes with the gaiters and superglued them to the back of each shoe so it won't happen again. I don't think the velcro would detach if you are using the the gaiters for regular hiking where the velcro isn't being rubbed.
The gaiters blend in well with dark trousers and shoes so you won't feel self conscious.
There are no issues with comfort and you will forget you are wearing them.
In summary, I thoroughly recommend the Montane Trail Lite Gaiters and wish I had bought them years ago.
