    Superb design, materials and craftsmanship

    I stumbled across this jacket while looking at down jackets online. Having owned the Anti-Freeze XT for a couple years and having been very impressed with it, it didn’t take me long to decide to pull the trigger on this.

    As expected the design, materials and construction quality are world class, and a huge upgrade for me is the beautifully soft and silky 8D nylon used for the zip guard rather the usual fleece material (that stuff sticks to short stubble like Velcro and eventually shows signs of wear) which was the only thing I wasn’t keen on with the XT. I think if I designed a jacket myself it would be pretty close to this.

    Like the XT the cut is fantastic and exactly what I look for in a belay/static insulation jacket - enough room for thick layers underneath without being overly bulky. One of the less obvious but big advantages of this is that because it’s not overly bulky you can wear it in your sleeping bag to seriously increase the warmth of your sleep system (thus reducing the size of sleeping bag you need to carry around).

    I bought the montbell mirage at the same time just to compare them and I decided to go for this over the mirage - so anyone familiar with montbell (considered by many to produce some of best down jackets/products in the world) will know what a huge compliment that is. All in all a near perfectly executed down belay jacket. 10/10 🏆

    P.S the listing said that the weight is 460g for a men’s medium - its actually 405g :)
