    For Alpinism

    Had these for over a year, and they've seen about 5 weeks of service in the Alps. The original pair of elasticated cord straps are still going (I've repaired once with physiotherapy tape). They hug mountaineering boots really well, keeping snow out. I've snagged them a couple of time with crampons (bad technique?), and repaired the resulting minor tears with physiotherapy tape again, which lasts really well. The one downside I can see is that they're not breathable, so in warm but wet environments (UK) in particular you might sweat in your boots if they're not particularly breathable. However, for cold alpine environments for shedding snow they're excellent.

    Robust, lightweight gaiters!

    The Montane Trail gaiters are lightweight yet very robust gaiters ideal for use in those warmer days when you're wearing shorts and don't want or need to wear a heavier gaiter. They really do the job at keeping out stones, grit and to a large extent water from your boots. I can highly recommend these excellent gaiters!
