    Fewer layers, more comfort

    I was under the impression it's a water-proof jacket and only later discovered it's not designed for that, but rather that it's water repellent instead.

    That said, the water repellent coating works really well, it kept me dry for 30min during a flash rain storm while cycling home. Then the jacket also dried very quickly again.

    Jacket is really comfortable and I was surprised how well it's able to keep me warm. Previously hiking in Iceland, I had to wear 7 layers of clothing to stay warm (temperatures were -1 to -7 with strong wind). With that many layers, you are also sweating a lot and the sweat cools you down again and you just never get comfortable. Now with similar temperatures, I'm able to reduce that to 4 layers - long-sleeve T-shirt, fleece over that, the Khamsin softshell, and a Torren over that. Less clothing, more comfort for the same temperatures.

    Very happy with the purchase!
