Had a full day of Lakeland winter climbing on Saturday and these Montane gloves were just right. I changed into them before ascending Greenhow Gully and wore them on a deep snow descent after the climb. Hands were kept warm and dry all day. Cuffs a little on the tight side but otherwise perfect.

Great fit, superb thermal qualities and lovely colour. Functionally very good, easy to pick up and use walking and climbing axes, also easy to remove protection from the harness for placing with these.
Good glove, well worth the money!

Montane Alpine Mission Waterproof Gloves
I love the build and fit of the medium gloves and had great expectations of a warm a durable glove for use in the mountains. However having tested them for 4 days at -2 & -3 C in the UK midlands I found them fingers extremely cold. My body was toasty warm in down jacket and my feet were comfortable in Marino socks in leather walking boots. Even when I warmed my hands in my pockets once back in the gloves my fingers became painfully cold .
Today at -4 C I revert to an old pair of ski mittens which were comfortable
I will reluctantly need to return and search for an alternative.
Generally I pleased with montane having used it for over 20 years
