Introducing Chris Cope
Tom Czermak is an alpine athlete drawn to the peace, freedom, and intensity of wild and remote mountain environments. Whether climbing steep faces, ski touring through high terrain, or moving fast and light on technical ground, his approach is shaped by a desire to explore extreme places both physically and mentally.
As his ambitions grew towards higher and more complex objectives, Tom recognised that modern mountaineering demands versatility. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, he trains across climbing, ski touring, running, and expedition-style mountaineering — not only as preparation, but because he genuinely enjoys the challenge each brings. For Tom, progress in the mountains comes from balance: strength and endurance paired with judgement, patience, and adaptability.
What continues to motivate him is the accumulation of unforgettable moments the mountains offer — long days in committing terrain, quiet mornings in remote valleys, and the deep satisfaction that comes from self-reliance in harsh environments. Just as important is the opportunity to share these experiences with others, building connection through shared challenge and adventure.
