Introducing Kevin Hadfield

My life as an athlete has been a tale of two worlds. I was always a climber, first and foremost. For years my days were spent living on the road and rock climbing in the climbing areas of the Western US, climbing daily and working to support my climbing habit. Ultimately at some point I decided that I preferred to climb short, powerful sport climbs and tall boulder problems. An unfortunate hand injury forced me to switch gears and try something new. I purchased a pair of running shoes and ran a popular, local 5K trail loop. I jumped into ultra-distance runs and races very quickly thereafter, finding that if I slowed down a bit I could run seemingly forever. I've been racing and training for the big events in the mountains ever since. For as long as I can remember, the mountains have been where I feel most comfortable. If I get my way, the future will be full of long days combining comfortability at the edge from years of climbing with extreme endurance.
