Introducing Kevin Hadfield

Kevin is a Mountain-Ultra-Trail athlete, ski mountaineer, and healthcare professional based in the central Rockies of Colorado in the United States. He loves to educate and share knowledge with athletes that are curious about ultra-trail sports and bumping up to bigger distances and events.

As an athlete, Kevin’s passion for outdoor endeavors was engrained at a very young age. For over a decade, Kevin was most inspired by climbing and vertical expeditions. Life was good on the road traveling between rock climbing areas throughout the Americas and Europe.

An unfortunate hand injury forced him to step away from climbing but a spirit of adventure cannot be snuffed out that easily… Kevin purchased a pair of trail running shoes and took to the trails. He re-focused and started ticking off long-trails and races all over the Western US. The ability to see and experience so many amazing places and things while pushing perceived limits and putting a line on a map are all things that push him to train hard for bigger and longer objectives.

Kevin is also a registered nurse, medicolegal death investigator, UESCA certified ultrarunning coach, and an active member of public safety and mountain rescue groups in the Rocky Mountain West. He expects the future to be full of long days combining comfortability at the edge from years of climbing with extreme endurance and plenty of smiles along the way.

““Montane sets the standard for ultra-light trail and climbing apparel. I’ve body-dragged my Montane gear across rocks, through bogs, over and under deadfall, and into all sorts of harsh environments for adventures lasting minutes to days. Whatever the conditions and whatever the distance, I’m always confident that Montane has me covered with appropriate kit.” - Kevin
